Biography

 



Mr. Iannetti was born in Florence, Italy. After studying economics at the University of Florence, he attended the Accademia di Belle Arti, also in Florence. After coming to the United States, Mr. Iannetti frequented the University of Minnesota, between 1967-68. His field of study included History of Art and American studies.

In 1969, he became the West Coast director of London Arts, a firm with major galleries in London, New York and Detroit. He dealt primarily in European and American original prints from the 15th century to the present. He remained with London Arts until 1971 when he then co-founded Nabis Fine Arts, New York, a firm specialized in publishing works on paper by contemporary artists. In 1972 Mr. Iannetti sold his interest in Nabis Fine Arts and founded the gallery in San Francisco, under his name. Mr. Iannetti is an art dealer, art collector and appraiser.

Over the past 40 years, Mr. Iannetti, at his galleries, (in addition to San Francisco he has had offices in Los Angeles and galleries in Carmel, and New York, all now closed), has held numerous exhibitions of original graphic works by artists ranging from Durer, Rembrandt, Callot, Daumier, Claude Lorrain, van Ostade, Hogarth, Piranesi, Goya, Whistler, Toulose-Lautrec, Cheret, Cappiello, Renoir, Robbe, Leger, Matisse, Picasso, Kathe Kollwitz, Magritte, de Chirico, Bacon, Severini and Zuniga, to artists of the American Pop Art, and paintings by Pissarro and his descendants, by Maximilian Luce, by Les Petits Maitres, Valentin Popov, Marco Sassone, Lino Mannocci, to sculpture by Armando Amaya, Jeffrey Van Dyke and ceramic works by Picasso. The gallery, through the years, has published numerous catalogues on the artists exhibited.

Mr. Iannetti, after closing his San Francisco Gallery, has moved to the Southern Californian desert city of Rancho Mirage where he continues his activity as a private art dealer, appraiser and consultant.
